RE: James Dawson.

WHEN I FIRST MET JAMES,HE WAS WITH HIS FATHER CHRIS AT THE BRAINTREE CRUISE,I HAD JUST GOT THE HOLDEN ON THE ROAD,AND HE TOOK THE P--S OUT OF IT BY SAYING THINGS LIKE IT WOULD ONLY RUN ON KANGEROO JUICE AND OTHER THINGS WHICH I WON'T GO IN TO.

HE WAS ALWAYS UP FOR A LAUGH,AND A GOOD FRIEND.

MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY,AND MANY FRIENDS.

REST-IN-PEACE,MATE

JOHN (WITH THE HOLDEN)

RE: James Dawson.

We were all deeply shocked to hear the tragic news about James and our hearts go out to Chris, his family, friends and his wider family, Acton Hot Rods.

James was a rising star within the ranks of Acton, the NASC and the Hot Rodding Community in general.  In the scheme of things he’d only just started but he achieved so much in such a short time.  We are very proud of him.

We are very proud of Acton too.  That you were dealing with such a personal tragedy but still maintained support for us speaks volumes.

Our thoughts are with you all.  Please let us know if there is anything you need.

RE: James Dawson.

Posted on behalf of Andy Bennett, Never Again Racing.

My heartfelt thoughts go out to Chris and his Family over the loss of James, i have spent the day in shock over the news sent to me by Chris last night. Myself, Chris and James all shared in something special, a 1979 Z28 Camaro, not just a car but something that created a friendship that continued. Chris and James came up on the train to North Manchester for an expedition to the wilds of a sleepy Lancashire town, not knowing if they needed to bring Sherpa Tensing. James was really into the journey into the back of beyond as we picked them up from Burnley train station. His eyes lit up when he saw the Camaro and the other car in our garage (at the time a 1965 Impala SS). Chris drove the car all the way home, not to test the cars reliability but as an adventure for young James, the car was bought im sure to bring a doting father and son closer together. My heart goes out to Chris and family, sincere thoughts buddy. Andy Bennett, Never Again Racing.

RE: James Dawson.

James grew up with our daughters, although they were a few years older than him they all enjoyed the love of "hotrods".

Carrie wishes me to remember the fun time at the 2005 Nats when James and a lot of the AHRA piled into the back of her big Chevrolet pick up, and did the famous " Cruise " the campsite, we all had such a laugh that night, Hemi the dog trying to push us all out of the buck and we all got soaking wet with the famous water pistols as we passed through the campsite. these are the happy memories are what will live on with us.

Also when Chris and James would pull up outside the Workshops just popped round the   corner for a cuppa tea and to show and get advise on the "New" old car,  and Tom would say don't park that heap of S*** outside my shop.

James smile was worth a thousand words

so heres some back

Four Candles for You

The first candle represents our grief.
The pain of losing you is intense.
It reminds us of the depth of our love for you.

This second candle represents our courage.
To confront our sorrow,
To comfort each other,
To change our lives.

This third candle we light in your memory.
For the times we laughed,
The times we cried,
The times we were angry with each other,
The silly things you did,
The caring and joy you gave us.

This fourth candle we light for our love.
We light this candle that your light will always shine.
As we share this night of remembrance
with our family and friends.

We cherish the special place in our hearts
that will always be reserved for you.
We thank you for the gift
your living brought to each of us.

We love you.
We remember you.

Rest now dear James

Our special thoughts are with Chris, Jen and family at this time

RE: James Dawson.

James was the sweetest, cheekiest loveable and likeable little young man and grew up to be the

same as a young man who lived life to the full.  His loss is overwhelming, there are no words

RE: James Dawson.

We came to know James and Chris mainly through the shows and of course his Suvvit which Kris had the pleasure of striping on many an occasion.

We always looked forward to James visits and constant questions and being regaled by his stories and twisted sense of humour, and his love of Ralph who accompanied him most places.

In todays society he was a rare gift - a good person of whom Chris and Jenny could be rightly proud

We will miss his visits and his smile.

The Shuvvit will be made to look fine again on Thursday - see you all at McDonalds

RE: James Dawson.

Sorry that we had to go after the church service, Ian had an accident on the way to Tiptree, a dumpster truck opened up the side of his van like a sardine can, the glass from the mirror punctured his arm and face and he was having some chest pains at the church so thought it was best that we got him home.

RE: James Dawson.

On behalf of myself and my fellow AHRA members, I would like to thank Chris and family for their hospitality at the do in their garden after yesterdays service.  I hesetate to use the word 'enjoyable', but it was, non the less, a very pleasant day.  I'm sure James would have appreciated such a send off, I estimate there were 30-35 cars from at least five different clubs.  I look forward to seeing Chris at the next meeting.  We missed you mate.

Appologies for not being able to make the funeral, Liz had to work and I had no way of attending without her :( Hope everything went aswell as can be expected, we did however manage to join in the toast at the meet in memory of james on wednesday so we had a little prayer for him there.
